SELAH MOMENT
Selah is a Hebrew word found throughout scripture, especially the Psalms, that signifies a pause or interlude in a song or poem. A Selah moment in scripture is a time to pause and ponder the truth that has been said or sung. (See Psalm 32).
We can practice Selah moments daily with God, too. When you read the Bible this week or listen to a worship song, take a moment to stop and hear from God.
S - STOP. Take a moment to find a quiet place and pause.
E - EXHALE. Take a few deep breathes and remember what God has done for you.
L - LOOK. Look around you. Maybe you see the beauty of God’s creation, a person in need of encouragement or even a messy house around you. Whatever you see, be reminded and be thankful of the life God has given to us.
A - ASK. Ask God to reveal to you something you need to hear, see or think.
H - HEAR. Take a moment to hear from God. God may not speak to you directly, but be intentional in looking for a way God may reveal something to you. It could be through reading scripture or something a close trusted friend speaks to you.
