My name is Jim Preisig, and I began ministry over 30 years ago in my home state of Wisconsin. I served in pastoral roles in Fon du Lac, Madison, and Monroe before making the move the Lee’s Summit, MO.
My studies began at Lawrence University where I received undergraduate degrees in Religion and Philosophy, being awarded both magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa distinction. I completed my Master of Divinity with honors at Yale University.
While a student at Yale, I met the love of my life, MaryAnn. We have been married for 35 years and have two grown children, Stephen and Anneli.
I’ve had to the privilege of serving as Senior Pastor of The Summit Church since July 2002. During this time, I’ve had opportunities to lead the church through incredible change. Most notably, the church has relocated from 3 acres in Downtown Lee’s Summit to 43 acres on the western edge of Lee’s Summit, near the Longview community.
In my spare time, I love to fly fish, golf, read, and play cribbage with MaryAnn.
My name is Jesse Land, and I grew up in the church and in a very musical family, so being the Worship Director at The Summit Church really feels like second nature for me. My love for leading worship really began in college, as I was a part of Christian student ministries and the music department at William Jewell College. In late 2007, God opened a door for me to step into ministry vocationally.
After helping launch a new service at my first church, then serving another church in Lee’s Summit, God brought me to The Summit in 2015. I love the opportunity to serve our church and see people grow in their expressions of worship. There’s nothing like seeing people connect with their Creator and Father in meaningful ways, and be drawn into closer relationship with Him.
I’ve been married to my wife Angie for 13 years, and we have two boys and a little girl (Weston, 7, Jerrett, 6, and Phoebe, 3.) I enjoy songwriting, playing golf, and everything Royals, Chiefs, and KU Jayhawks!
