What is the Waymakers Campaign?
The Waymakers Campaign will provide The Summit Church with an opportunity to prepare the way for what God wants to do NEXT through our church and in our community.
With our historical debt retired and upgrades made, we will be ready for Vision 2030. God has blessed the work of this church for 157 years and we have an opportunity before us to continue to pave the way for generations to come, to be Waymakers, as we help people follow Jesus and find life.
Here are just a few areas we’ve seen growth at The Summit Church just in the last year:
• Average Weekly Attendance +13%
• Baptisms +73%
• Kids & Student Camp Attendance +40%
• Average Weekly Giving +16%
These aren’t just numbers.
They tell the story of how God is working in the hearts and lives of people in our church community. In the beginning of 2024, we rolled out the So Much More campaign, and the stories of how you have been praying, growing, giving, serving and inviting have had a profound impact upon our church. God is continuing to move in the hearts and lives of the people who call The Summit Church their home. Here is a story of just one person who has been impacted.
Christina and her family began attending The Summit in January 2024. Since then, God has been at work in her life. Here’s part of her story:
“My outlook on God, on the church, and on faith has all changed drastically since coming to The Summit. I know God led me to this church. Through His prevenient grace I started attending The Summit Church at just the right time. On my very first visit, the first person I heard speak was Micah. He spoke in the in-between time during worship and he asked, ‘why do we pray?’ My head immediately snapped up. It was the very question that had been plaguing me for years. I was very curious about what this church had to say about prayer. Micah said, ‘we pray to invite God in.’ I was floored. I had never heard anyone put it so simply, yet perfectly. I knew right then I was where God intended me to be. After that, I came back every week eager to hear more. Every sermon seemed to speak to me on some level.
I went on YouTube and watched past sermons to learn more from the people whose voices I trusted. After speaking with some of the staff I was able to find my footing and I have grown my faith through prayer, Bible reading, spiritual reading, serving and a church community. I am learning, reading and listening to everything I can to gain a better understanding of God. The Summit has provided so many resources for me to dig into and it has drastically shaped my faith. It has been life-changing and so fulfilling.” -Christina
What will God do through you? We hope you will prayerfully consider how you might be a part of helping people follow Jesus and find life for years to come.
